New Season, New Plans, New Feelings March 14, 2006

This season has been coalescing into a great start…and hopefully what will be a full season devoid of massive breaks due to injury or work, and an actual plan for improvement.

The biggest change is that I finally have a couple coaches again, something I haven’t had since college. I started training with Andrea Fisher and Jamie Cleveland, of Texas Iron. They’ve been great, as have the group of triathletes. I had forgotten how wonderful it can be (and motivating), going through practice with 40-60 other people. I’m also going through a swim clinic with them at the same time…finally getting a bit of refinement on my stroke technique and a bit more comfort in the water. We’ll have to see how it plays out once race day comes along.

Otherwise, it’s been simply keeping to a plan. I’m in the middle (literally, between posts) of creating a new paper journal template. I’ve still never found a ready made journal that fit everything I liked without having a lot of unecessary stuff for me, and a bit of work on the computer and a quick run to kinkos gets me exactly what I’d like.

Race wise, I’ve got a few races cemented:

I’d like to add in a couple more or so…and definately an earlier race. Still trying to fit things around the rest of life, a trip back to Oregon to help get things ready for my sister’s wedding, a second trip to Cali to hopefully run over the course with Kylie, and life in general.

Now I just need to inch my bedtime another hour earlier…
